Zapier needed a central platform where users could showcase their automation workflows, share resources, and learn from each other during their ZapConnect event and after.
With over 7,000 app integrations and a growing community of automation enthusiasts, they lacked a dedicated space for users to discover and share innovative ways to use their platform.
Zapier’s pain points
Zapier's platform connects over 7,000 apps, enabling millions of automated workflows. However, discovering these solutions often meant searching through scattered blog posts, forum threads, and documentation. As ZapConnect 2024 approached, Zapier recognized an opportunity to create something more meaningful than a temporary event platform.
The path forward
The vision was clear: create a centralized hub that would showcase user-submitted workflows, house event resources, and highlight winners of the prestigious Zappies competition. But with only six weeks until the event, time was critical.
Our team tackled several complex requirements. The platform needed to support detailed workflow submissions while maintaining high content quality through moderation. It had to integrate with existing systems and provide a smooth experience for both event attendees and the broader Zapier community.

Each submission captured essential details:
A sophisticated moderation system ensured content quality. Zapier's team could review, edit, and approve submissions through an intuitive dashboard. Approved creators received automatic email notifications, keeping them engaged in the process.
The resource center became a knowledge repository, organizing event materials and related content in an easily searchable format. The Zappies competition hub added an element of excitement, first displaying submissions and later showcasing winners across various categories.
Measuring success
The platform launched successfully before ZapConnect 2024, meeting all critical deadlines. More importantly, it achieved its goal of creating lasting value. The workflow sharing process, once scattered across various channels, became streamlined and accessible.
Results
